Lodge Honors Local Veterans

Charles City Elks Lodge #418 would like to honor area Veterans in conjunction with Veterans Day by serving them a free meal.

On Thursday, November 12, the Charles City Elks will hold a curbside pickup spaghetti dinner for Elks members and any Veterans wishing to participate. Reservations are REQUIRED and can be made by phoning the Lodge at 228-1257 OR going to www.charlescityelks.org (use the “reservations” link) prior to noon on November 11 to make reservations. Veterans’ meals will be free, while others are asked to make a free-will donation. (The suggested donation is $10 for the meal, but any amount is appreciated.) Elks members and Veteran guests are requested to use the west driveway at the Lodge (2111 Clark Street). Meals will be served from 5:30 – 6:30 PM.

In past years, the Elks has hosted a soup supper in honor of our Veterans. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, they have opted to do a curbside pickup of a meal this year. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks have supported Veterans programs locally since the Lodge’s formation in 1898 and the Charles City Lodge is proud to be able to do so once again.
