Each year, the Charles City Elks Charitable Trust Board of Directors invests funds that have been donated to the Trust. These funds are raised through the annual Fall Fling, donations sent in with dues payments, and memorials for departed friends and family. Any proceeds earned from those investments are available for distribution in our communities. At a recent meeting, the Board announced plans to disburse $5,000 to area non-profit projects and organizations.
Charles City Elks members were encouraged to submit suggestions for where these funds could best be used. Following review of these suggestions, the Board voted to provide funding to the following:
- $ 500.00 – Charles City Cares
- $ 800.00 – Charles City Elks Youth Activities
- $ 500.00 – National 19th Amendment Society
- $ 500.00 – Floyd County Quilts of Valor
- $1,000.00 – City Improvement Association
- $1,500.00 – Floyd County Museum & Historical Society
- $ 100.00 – Charles City Athletic Century Club
- $ 100.00 – Charles City Fine Arts Century Club
