The Charles City Elks Charitable Trust was founded in 1998 as a way for the Lodge to continue funding its many charitable activities without negatively impacting the finances of the Lodge itself.
The Trust accepts donations from the membership when paying dues, making memorial donations, miscellaneous donations, and through its major fundraiser, the Fall Fling.
Funds received by the Trust are invested – the donations are never spent. Any income generated through these investments can be made available from time to time in order to help support the Lodge's charitable activities. This distribution of funds is at the discretion of the Trust Board of Directors who are charged with protecting the Trust donations and distributing funds as is deemed prudent from year to year.
