COVID-19 outbreak means changes at the Elks

A “new normal” is upon us as a result of the COVID-19 virus outbreak. The Lodge Board of Directors met Monday evening (March 16) to discuss how the Lodge will handle this very fluid situation. Several decisions were made, only to have the entire situation changed by Iowa’s Governor the next morning.

The long and the short of it, is that Charles City Elks Lodge #418 is officially CLOSED until April 1. The reality is, that we may well be closed longer than that, depending upon how the COVID-19 crisis is going at that time. We will endeavor to keep our members updated as quickly as we are able.

The Lodge has been granted a dispensation for our March 18 Lodge meeting, since our meeting attendance is usually more than the number allowed by the Governor’s decree. Although the Lodge meeting will not be held, the Lodge Board of Directors WILL meet to approve payment of bills and to take care of any other business that may need action.

We will immediately comply with all government orders as they may apply to us in the future.

We encourage our members to check on their friends and neighbors to see that they are OK. If there is anything the Lodge can do to assist you in these uncertain times, feel free to leave a message at the Lodge or contact any Lodge member and we will see if there is a way we can assist you.

We WILL get through this!
