Charles City Elks members and friends will once again meet on Saturday, September 24 to help clean up a 2-mile section of Underwood Avenue east of Charles City. The Lodge has “adopted” this stretch of road for many years as a service project to our area.
Those who are able to do so are asked to gather at the Lodge by 9:00 AM on Saturday. They will then carpool to Underwood Avenue and begin cleaning up the ditches along that stretch of road. Participating members are reminded to dress for the weather. Gloves are encouraged! With enough volunteers, we should have the project completed in less than two hours.
